The Department of Physics was established within the College of Sciences in 2002-2003 in order to supply the needs of the university and the province. The department, which provides both theoretical and practical training, supplies specialized graduates to Diyala’s public sector. Classes, which are on the semester teaching system schedule and are distributed over four years, lead to a Bachelor of Science in Physics. The department also offers a PhD and Master of Science in Solid State Physics degree.
