(DiyalaPepper- A Dataset for Pepper Plant Images (Fruits and Leaves
This new dataset (DiyalaPepper), has been created by a scientific research team from University of Diyala, Iraq. The team consists of Assist. Prof.Dr. Jamal Mustafa Al-Tuwaijari, a lecturer at College of Science, Department of Computer Science, and Rasha Basim Issa, a master's degree student at the same department, and Dr. Tariq Sade Abbas Al-Hayali, a lecturer at College of Agriculture. The dataset contains a set of images of the leaves and fruits of the pepper plant which includes a gallery of images of healthy and unhealthy pepper fruits and leaves that researchers can be used to apply different computer visions and image processing operations to detect and classify pepper plant diseases and any other tasks. The dataset named (DiyalaPepper) and contains of ( 244 ) samples of healthy and unhealthy images for both peppers fruits and leaves collectively as shown in the table below. Some of images were acquired from the Diyala University / College of Agriculture, another image acquired from some farms from Diyala province-Khan Bani Saad and some others farms from Wasit province – Suwairah under the supervision of experts researchers in the domain of pepper plant. These images were taken in November – December 2019 and January – February – March 2020. No such sample have been pre-treatment was conducted. The dimensions of each image in dataset is 1600 * 1066. The dataset were gathered using DSLR (Nikon D3300) camera having a sensor with CMOS system and resolution of (width 1600 pixels – height 1066 pixels). The sensor size for Nikon D3300 is 18-55 (mm). All the chosen images is RGB color images in JPEG format.
